You dont say if xp has recognised you modem driver - check by clicking start-control
panel - system - hardware -device manager then look at modems if everything seems
ok here then you do not have a driver problem. Now when you try tom use you modem
does your system either hand or do you get a message saying it cant communicate with
a port. If this is the case (which I had) I changed the modem pci slot and it worked
fine.(Still dont know the exact reason) good luck
