Unmountable boot volume when installing XP

sup!! when i am about to install XP over windows 98, it starts then copys the installation files which is normal, re-boots which is normal I then press enter on continue with XP installation, then it loads, then it stops loading and a blue screen comes up saying: UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME And comes up with the code: 0x00000ED (0x81B55030, 0x00000000, 0x00000000) please help because windows 98 is annoying and boring as hell
