The modem works fine, except that when you log into the internet the sound card stops working, and you need to reboot the PC to get it back. This is an Athlon 1.5 Ghz PC with onboard sound and modem. I notice that the modem driver is unsigned, and its version number is 1.0.0.0, or something similar. I tried downloading a new driver (ver 2.3.x.x) from an NEC site, but XP wouldn't install it. I also notice that the manufacturers web site says that Windows XP is not supported for their modems. Anything I can do (apart from disable the modem and use an external)?
