Go to your modem manufacturer's web site when you're at home on cable, and download 
the installer files (mostly just an .inf file) for that model.  Note that most manufacturers 
will not have any drivers listed for XP, but I find that the Windows 2000 drivers 
work well (NEWS FLASH...WIN XP REALLY IS WIN 2000 UNDER THE HOOD), but when you install 
them, expect a warning about the drivers not being "signed".  In this case, that's

Win98SE, ME, 2K and XP use a universal modem driver for nearly all modems, and the 
.inf file simply tells Windows what features are available and the configuration 
"strings" used to get the modem into various modes.  XP reads the file just fine.
