Pc manufacturers support only the original operating system in any computer. This is because they cannot guarantee driver updates for all hardware in the computer. typically pc manufacturers do not write device drivers. So what they're saying is not that the warranty is void, it's that the computer is not supported by technical support until the original operating system is put back on the computer. Although, they should be able to help you do that. They should actually lead you through the necessary steps. To remove XP, you may need to debug the drive. the MS-DOS partition removal script should be available on Microsoft's and your PC manufacturer's web site. Be advised that like Format, Debug kills all data on the drive.
