In NT and 2k there is a replacement program for network communication called netsend. to use this program go to start|run|command. this will open up a dos prompt and you can type net send and the computer name of the user and then your message. (just like you would in winpopup.) this isn't as stable as winpopup in that the message comes up in a diaglog box that has only an OK button. but this should work in xp as those are built all on the NT kernel. best of luck
