Bob,
I don't have a solution, but I do have what I think might be a requirement. On my
system, the taskbar with "auto hide" turned on only gets stuck open when I have a
couple of instances of Internet Explorer 6 open. When I shut all but one down, the
taskbar starts to hide again. I should mention that the video card is a PCI All-in-Wonder
Pro from ATI which is barely supported. ATI doesn't have a driver for it and the
one supplied with Windows XP is minimal and, indeed, somewhat problematic. If you
have an ATI Rage Pro-based video card, perhaps we've found something. Please let
me know, and thanks.
