I have the same problem with XP, but on a standard BT line, and no AOL in sight! If you STFW you will see lots of similar moans - one common factor appears to be Evesham PCs. My guess it is a bit of kit (hardware or software) trying to be too clever - maybe V.92 modems?? I have no solution yet. Have fun ( ?)
