I believe we have a variation of the same problem....
MY95a knows the xp is there because it deplays an Icon with it's name...and like
you....
there is no where it could have gotten it except across the net work...
I also know the Xp has been in contact with the 95a...because one of the tests for
the Nics in the XP...lists the Nic mac no in the 95a...
and the only place it could have gotten that is over the network..
They each ping themselves and do not ping each other
They both ping 127.0.0.1...what ever that is...
Keep digging...If I solve the problem , I'll tell you....you do the same for me
I am getting frustrated...
Wait a moment.....you saw the name of the other computer on the XP? on what screen....?
what does your screen "my network places" look like?
