Regarding the message "Home is not accessible. You might not have permission to use 
this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you 
have access permission. The list of servers for this workgroup is not currently available." 
or similar, I too have been struggling with this one. I have found that turning off 
ICF (Personal Firewall, the one built into XP) on the machines which you are trying 
connect gets everything working -- when the network is otherwise set up correctly 
of course.

I think it should be possible to configure ICF to be turned on and open just a port 
or two, but I have not found the right combination yet -- ports 137-139 alone don't 
fix it for example.
