XP Upgrade--Error 691 Monday, February 4, 2002 at 5:16 pm Windows XP Annoyances Discussion Forum Posted by Tracy (5 messages posted) OS 98, upgraded to XP. When trying to connect to the internet, continual error 691--invalid username password. Verified the info. being entered into dialer is correct, logged into a third party email website on a second system. Deleted/recreated dialer. Tried different access number. Added Modem Init. String. Checked settings in Internet Options/Connection/Settings---retyped, is correct. Same issue.... No PWL files to delete on XP. Ran a HyperTerm on modem, its working fine. Is this some kind of glitch with the 98 upgrade to XP? Perhaps a poor XP installation??
