Hi Larry , follow me on this , it may not make sense but it will work fine. First
write down all the settings of your connection in network connections so you can
re-create the connection later, then delete the connection. If you use OE for e-mail
, go in there and take out your username and password. Now go into the control panel
under "users "and create a second user for your machine in XP, (it can be limited
or admin). Now go and re-create your internet connection , If you are asked if you
want to share this connection with other users , check yes,and put your user and
pass back in OE. It should now retain the correct password , but it will still add
the "masking" characters making the password appear longer , but it will retain the
correct password. Lotsa frustration in this one for me:-) .Good Luck , Case
