In case neither of you figured this out, and I think you probably did, this looks very much like a virus I just had called W95/Kuang. McAfee has advice on their site on how to get rid of it, mostly involving buying McAfee's software, which I did after spending large amounts of time on the phone with MS Support after doing very stupid things to my computer. Hope you all were able to get rid of this thing.
