OK I can now grab files from my laptop with Millenium to my XP pc, but not vice versa.
After you establish a direct cable connection between XP and any other system you
must map to the locations. Here is an a example:
Under tools pull down in My Computer there is an option "Map Network Drive"
Open that
Choose a drive letter, anyone is fine i think x is the default
In the place for folder type EXACTLY
\\othercomputersname\foldername
mine is
\\Dina\laptopmydocuments
Dina is the name I gave my laptop. How? In control panel, click on network, then
identification tab and rewrite or leave name that is there.
laptopmydocuments is the name i gave that folder when i allowed it to be shared.
So use the \\ very important and you will be able to access any folder on your non
XP system via direct cable connection. Still unsure the other way.
