Damn...all that is just great isn't it? I mean, I've now spent about ½ an hour searching
for info on those extra asterisks...so let's sum it up - since I've accumulated a
lot of excess knowledge through my vivid search routines:
Microsoft gets a password save bug way back in W95/W98
They publizise a work-around (pretty technical but works)
The SAME problem appears in ME and W2K - (and eventually a different work-arounds
appear)
Now, in XP they've apparantly said "What the Hell, let's put it in there INTENTIONALLY
- or actually, LET'S NOT BUT PRETEND WE DID, so we can fool the enemy..!"
Meanwhile all the users that actually discovered this well-known bug again and tried
to find new ways to eliminate it have wasted their time completely and are feeling
pretty insulted...
I sorta rest my case here...are those guys complete morons??
