Question about 'Connect to a Windows XP or 2000 system with a Windows 95, 98, or Me system over a Network'

Today I added a new P4 Dell machine with XP Home to a network with 2 Windows 2000 Professional machines networked by a Dell power switch. The Networking Wizard in XP Home isn't recognizing the existing 2 other machines on the network. The Networking Wizard says you need to run it on the other machines in the network -- but it only works on MS98, and MSME. It doesn't work on Windows 2000 Pro. So I spent much of the day today trying to get the new computer recognized on the network and trying to see the other 2 machines. No luck. What am I doing wrong??
