Cecil, thanks... I figured it was that and a combination of setting permissions. One dumb question for you or anyone else. Let's assume for a moment that my client doesn't have his XP installation disc laying around. Is there anywhere else to find the NetBEUI protocol I'll need so it can talk with the 2K machine? thanks.. david
