I have the same set-up with a 95 machine and XP with a Netgear 5 port switch. The DSL modem acts as one NIC, and the other is integrated (Dell machine). The 95 machine requires a little more effort than XP to get set-up. It could be a couple of things,but I'll just point you to these 2 troubleshooters.
