This is a very annoying setting but you can change it you cannot delete it the setting
is under “tools >folder options” in any folder on your computer. Click the “file
types” tab there will be a list of file extensions select the one you want to change
click the change button and select the program you want to use. You will have to
change each type of picture file individually but this is preferable to a registry
