Like others I too have the Windows installer issue on my relatively new HP PC (with
XP). My issue is that every time I open Outlook a message pops up that I need to
insert my Microsoft Office 2K Disk 2 to complete the install program. I hit cancel
and the box goes away, I can check messages, run my calendar do everything I want
to do in Outlook just fine. It annoys me that this message always pops up and I can’t
get it to go away. I am at a loss to fix this, I tried the re-install process for
Office 2K and that didn't work because tells me I have an error and can't reinstall.
The message reads:
" Error 1919 configing ODBC data source MS Access database ODBC error 6 component
not found in registry verify that the file MS Access exist and that you can access
it".
I have verified that Access exist (I think) and even tried to uninstall / reinstall
just Access. Nothing worked to stop the Windows Installer message when opening Outlook.
BTW Access opens just fine and seems to work. Any ideas or suggestions for me?
