I encountered the problem when I tried to do dual boot Win XP and Mandrake 8.2
1.) Format the whole hard drive C: (80 GB).
2.) Install Win XP on the hard drive C:.
3.) Install Mandrake 8.2
4.) Reboot computer. Show boot window
5.) If I choose linux, the linux will boot fine. However, if I choose NT (which is
Win XP), the blue screen shows up with the following error message.
*****************************************
A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage your
computer
UNMOUNTABLE_BOOT_VOLUME
If this is the first time you’ve seen this stop error screen, restart your computer.
If this screen appears again, follow these steps:
Check to make sure any new hardware or software is properly installed. If this is
a new installation, ask your hardware and software manufacturer for any windows updates
you might needs.
If problems continue, disable or remove any nearly installed hardware or software.
Disable BIOS memory options such as caching or shadowing. If you need to use safe
mode to remove or disable components, restart your computer, Press F8 to select Advanced
startup options, and then select safe mode.

I tried almost every way above except disabling BIOS memory options such as caching
or shadowing because I could not find them in my BIOS., but I still could not get
it worked.
Please help. Thanks in advance.
