I found a solution to the problem folks.
I have a Sony PCV RX 550 with Win XP.
First you have to install a patch for the CDRW which is available on the sony website.
Link is http://www.ita.sel.sony.com/support/pc/pcvrx550rx560rx570/softupdates/
The name of the file is MSP691XBCF.EXE
Under the category "CD-R/RW media recorded with the Windows® XP CD recorder may be
missing files or folders, or may be unreadable. "
Second step is, after installing the patch, use the CD burning software "NTI CD-Maker
Professional Edition 5.1 " available at www.downloads.com. The software is a shareware
and works for 30 burns. Its $50 to buy, but worth it since it works.
These two steps solved my problem. BTW make sure you uninstall all CD burning software,
before you install the patch.
Hope this info helps.
