windows xp can be removed from the dual boot system without formatting the hard drive
even if you have the xp and microsoft's other OS in the same drive.I don't mean that
XP can be uninstalled but it surely can be safely deleted if you follow these instructions.
At first boot ur computer ni XP ,then click Start>>>Run and type "msconfig".Click
on "Boot.ini" tab . U will probably see 2 options namely "microsoft windows" and
"multi............xp /fastdetect".Choose "microsoft windows" n click 'ok' .and restart
ur computer in XP again. After that right "My computer" and then click "properties".Then
click the "advanced" tab . You will again see the options "microsoft ...." and ".multi.........xp"
.Choose "microsoft windows" again and then click "edit" . You will see some text
in notepad . then erase the last line "multi ..............windows xp /fastdetect"
and then click on "file" and save the changes you made and exit .Now u may be asked
to restart the computer .Now when you restart you will no longer get the option of
choosing which OS to boot .Your computer will directly load your older OS(ie 98,ME,2000
whatever u have) After that u can delete ur "Windows" folder of your XP version .
Good luck. If u have some question email me at "prabhatbaniya@hotmail.com"
