Give this a try... be sure the printer is discon from the laptop. unistall printer
and software completely. then go to CONTROL PANEL, ADMINISTRATIVE TOOLS, and scroll
down to PRINT SPOOLER, change startup type to AUTOMATIC. Reboot machine, connect
printer, should automatically be detected. If you need to, check LEXMARK site for
latest XP drivers... if there are more recent drivers available, download and install.
Let us know if it resolved issue.
As far as the fax option, you will need the XP disk to reinstall the fax option,
unless you have a copy of xp on your HD... good thing to do with any os... this
way if you do lose the cd... pull from HD...
