I was searching for an answer to my own question and I probably won't make it back,
but it seems my problem is similar.
I too, am on a LAN - at home on ADSL with NIC and Router and at work with NIC and
router/fiber. At home I have Win98 and Win2000. At work I have WINXP. At home
when I dialup to the internet everything works fine - at work XP freaks out and cannot
route. I work for an IT company in support and fortunately we do not support this
sort of problem, however, I have had a customer express the same frustration over
what seems to be an XP bug. All updates have been installed. Except for this one
from this week. I will install and try again. Annoyances.org? ???? I will try
and remember to make it back here if it works.
