Katie,
Create shortcuts for notepad and/or wordpad under " C:\Documents and Settings\Katie\SendTo
" --(assuming Katie is your log on name, that is). Next time you want to open any
file that has no association, right click on it.. select SEND TO and choose between
notepad or wordpad.
Note: To edit any system file, you may have to right click, select properties and
remove any read only attributes first.
