I'm going to check out sysopt.com, havin the same troubles. Did your networking function,
but not ICS. I've tried ICS c WINXP host and 98SE client. I can access LAN, files
on each computer. But No ICS on the 98SE machine. The 98SE machine even says it
has connection to internet but no data will pass beyond the XP host. I then did a
clean XP install on the 98SE client and still had the same situation, filing sharing
availble no ICS even tough it shows connected. Manually configed machine IP and ran
the wizards several times. A real bitchy problem. Going to put the client back to
98SE for several reasons and will try some of the suggestions and sites listed here.
I'm thinking of reinstalling the XP host as I don't use IE as my deafault browser.
As mentioned earlier IE can be key to connectin on the 98SE machine and probably
the XP host as well.
