I've tried various ways, including most of those listed at the link you showed,
but the only way I've found that makes the name change actually stick is
to edit every registry entry to reflect the desired name.
The easiest way to search the registry (IMHO) is with Registry
Detective, a free utility from PC Mag. It makes registry searches a breeze.
