Thank you, thank you! I just did a clean install of XP Pro on my Sony notebook, and
was hoping that I would have a completely 'clean' desktop, since I run everything
from the START menu. With the precedessor OS, Windows Me, the desktop Computer icon
was obligatory. The Display menu is different on XP, and until I read your hint,
I had completelly overlooked the inconspicuous 'customize' button you described.
Whomever you are, I'm much obliged to you. Little annoyances remain annoyances, and
life is better without annoyances...
