I have seen several hacks and tools that might allow you to do just that, one involving opening the c:\windows\inf\sysoc.inf file and removing the word "hide" from each line. However, on my XPSP1 system this doesn't allow actual removal of these items, just showing them. At any rate, 2000/xplite from www.litepc.net seems to still be vaporware, and that is what we're all really waiting for...
