Let me add my complaint to this list too.
I recently tried using the CD-RW software with Windows but I didn't like it so I
tried using InCD. At first I installed the version that came with my Nero CD but
that didn't work at all so I went to the Ahead web site and downloaded the latest
version 3.3.7.
Upon reboot I pop in a CD-RW disk and the arrow goes green. Since the disk has junk
on it from previous usage on my Win98 computer I decide to format it. After the
format appears to finish a new process starts stating something along the lines of
"Scan RW and mark undetectable sectors". In the end I get a red arrow and a toasted
CD that InCD seems to think had tons of errors.
Frustrating but I take it as an anomaly and try again, and again, and again. No
luck. Soon I will have no CD-RW's. Also, I have 3 different brands. An HP CD-RW
that came with my old HP CD-RW drive, my ASUS CD-RW that came with my new CD-RW drive,
and some Pacific Digital CD-RW's.
I don't think it's the CD's. I don't think it's the drive. I think it's either
the Windows CD-RW software (made by Roxio) or InCD.
I'm guessing it's the fact that the old software was never uninstalled and somehow
it still has its grubby fingers in the driver. Would anyone know how to get rid
of the included Windows software?
