Here is the complete steps I used to set up ADSL....
>1. From the Start menu, choose Control Panel.
>2. Click the "Network and Internet Connections" icon.
>3. Click the "Set up or change your Internet connection" icon.
>4. Click the Setup button, then click the Next button.
>5. Select "Connect to the Internet", then click the Next button.
>6. Select "Set up my connection manually", then click the Next button.
>7. Select "Connect using a broadband connection that requires a user
name and password", then click the Next button.
>8. In the ISP Name field, type a name to identify your PPPoE connection
(ie. EarthLink), then click the Next button.
>9. In the User name field, type your email address >10. In the Password and Confirm
password fields, type your password.
>11. Uncheck the box next to "Use this account name and password when
anyone connects to the Internet from this computer".
>12. Check the box next to "Make this the default Internet connection"
if you wish to make the connection the default.
>13. Uncheck the box next to "Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for
this connection", then click the Next button.
>14. Check the box next to "Add a shortcut to this connection to my
desktop" to have a shortcut place on your desktop, then click the
Finish button.
> After you have esatblished things work you can go
back and enable the firewall if you want. It just helps
not to have on when getting setup. Less to trouble shoot if you have a problem. Good
Luck
