I followed this method since I have the same problem when I shut down my XP PRO.
When clicked "shut down computer" it would say"shut down window so you can safely
turn off the power". The soft-off feature used to work for a short period of time
with this xp, and worked great with win98. But I am running out of resource to fix
this annoying power down procedure. there is no option to choose like what you mentioned
at "VIEW" in device manager. Please help!! thankyou much in advance!
