You may not like this method, but a similar complaint on this forum about the Insert
key inspired it. I removed the Insert key, broke out the plastic cylinder inside
of the key that attaches it to the switch on the keyboard, then replaced it. It has
now been "neutered" and is no longer accidentally pressed. What happens if I ever
need it again? Well I have needed it since DOS died, so I can probably continue to
live without it. Looks like I might be doing the same mod to the Num Lock key - because
you do have a good point. And the last thing that I want is another background service
continually probing my system to see if the stupid switch is on or off.
