I had been having many of the problems indicated here. I had previously installed the free UDF reader put out by Adaptec. Apparently there was a conflict between it and InCD, because when I uninstalled that reader, then disabled windows XP support for burning CDs (like you mention), it started working. So if anybody has a separate UDF reader installed, uninstall it and see if that helps.
