It DID NOT work..did just what you said for me also, so I just turned it off under 'RUN', 'MSCONFIG' startup tab and did NOT re-install Norton, WOrking for a few weeks now, no probs. Although, I have no anti-virus protection. Norton definately has something to do with this problem as just turning off starteak and leaving norton still created problems for me.
