I have tried ALL of these things. I have checked to make sure my desktop is not
locked. I have made sure the correct box is checked under "Use drop shadows for
icon labels on the desktop". I even tried downloading WindowsFX and checking the
appropriate box on that, and even it didn't make the boxes transparent. I can't figure
out what in the heck to do. They were transparent until I pasted an image onto my
desktop, then the colored boxes appeared. I took that image off and trashed it,
and still can't get the boxes transparent. I'm at a total loss......
