Well I had a similar problem(s) with a Win2k Prof. machine, connecting to Win95, 98 machines. This is basically the same, as far as settings go,etc..and how they work. FIRST, you have to WrITe down the NAME and the WORKGROUP ( U need them BOTH ) of the PC that's running 95, 98, or ME,etc...(the one trying to connect to the XP BoX). What you'll have to do is go to the machine running XP and right click on whatever U WaNT to SharE, ( i.e. a FOLDER or a PRINTER, etc.... ) then you will need to go to the "SHARING" tab. U will then see a bunch of various settings, and you should be able to figure out what to do from there...( meaning just choose what GROUPS, or USERS, COMPUTER nameS, etc...to add to be able to share the resources U wi$h theM to SHaRe...etc...). Then, go back to the machines NOT running XP, (the ones U were wanting to be able to connect to the XP box) and try to connect with whatever method U wish, i.e. browsing for the resources, or trying just the path..etc....and this ShouLD work for U likE it did for Me. GooD LuCK, LaTeR....
