Actually, scratch that.
Now I've taken off the heatsink and cleaned it as well as cleaned off all the old
thermal compound on the cpu and put new thermal compound on it so there is solid
contact. I no longer have the hard resets, however now I have consistent crashing
of most programs. Where I used to rarely have any crashes, most programs crash at
least on exit. Perhaps it is a power consumption problem and the cpu wasn't getting
enough juice, and now has enough to continue running but not to run programs stable?
What would I go about doing to find this bottleneck, if it exists, and kill it?
