Hi Denise, Many thanks for your reply. I tried a different video card but this didn't work. I think the reason being is that my motherboard has the AGP slot with this extra spacer in it for the card and not the older style so the only video card I could get hold of to fit the slot was another of the newer AGP format. My only other option was to use a card with a PCI slot but I don't have one of these either. Also my motherboard does not have a built in video card. I guess unless I buy a basic older style or PCI format card I am at a dead end. Oh and also I installed again win 98 successfully and tried installing from within that but it still rebooted and went through the dos installation procedure, subsequently failling during the process. Do you have any further suggestions? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Gareth
