After uninstalling the Easy Access Button Support software (what starteak.exe is a part of) and installing the latest fix from Compaq/HP I still had the problem described in this form, cpu hung @ 100 %. I figured out that it was because I disabled the Terminal Services service. After setting the service back to manual and rebooting all is good. The service does start though.
