I have an FIC AZ11E MB and I am running Win2000. I had to change a BIOS setting under
power mgt menu that was labeled something like 'fan state on standby' and the values
are 'on' and 'off'. Off setting works like a charm. Not sure what MB you have but
look at the bios for something like this and it may fix it up for you. FYI- I checked
my heatsink with my finger when I made this change to be sure I wasn't cooking my
chip and it felt nice and cool. Have been running this arrangement about 24/7 for
a month now w/o probs.
