I finally got Nero working right under WinXP (after three days). I did the following:
1) Uninstall all CD-writer software (Nero, EasyCD)
2) Delete the UpperFilter/LowerFilter registry entries (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\Class\{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\UpperFilter
and ...\LowerFilter.
3) Re-install Nero, and Nero WMP plug-in
4) This is the part that did the trick: Go to the device manager and uninstall your
CD-ROM drive. Then scan for hardware changes and let XP re-install it. This resets
the registry entries that allow "Send to CD" to work.
After doing this, I can use "Send to CD" and also Nero - actually both on the same
physical CD.
Good luck. It's definitely frustrating.
