I would suggest searching the registry with Ctrl+F for the file path e.g c:\blah\blah\foldername and just examine every location that mentions it. One other place I would check is Start Button > Control Panel > Administritive Tools > Services and see if it appears in there as something which automatically starts, you can disable if from there if it does.
