ok, i finaly dug it out. THIS is the end of your "IPC$" logon box (note: and that
one for printer, too).
i've spent months watching this STUPID logon box and today i decided to bring it
to an end. i made it :))) OHH IM SO HAPPY!!!
here's the deal:
the problem is in fact in the winXP's limitation on passwords.
1. first create an user on XP with the same username as the one on win98. if there's
a password too, assign it like on win98. in this case this should already solve the
problem. END. FIN.
2. but if you dont have a password and dont want to have the win98 user logging on
with a password, then do the following:
3. on XP go to
administrative tools -> local security policy -> security settings -> local policies
-> security options
and set "Account: Limit local account use of blank passwords to console logon only"
to "Disabled"
you did it.
