Option still grey after doing all in MS KB article

Hey just to bump this, I'm having the same problem, and the MS KB article did not provide the cure. Both modem and PPPoE options are still greyed out, making install of PPPoE impossible. Still searching, but I'm having nada for luck. What causes these two options to get greyed in the first place?! Thanks! =-MDP-=
