Try the following:
Open notepad
(Start->Programs->Accessories->Notepad),
copy the following text, and paste it into your notepad
window:
REM ------------ START OF COPY ----------------
@echo off
echo [HKR] > %windir%\smcfg.ini
echo HostBasedModemData\Parameters\DPDriver,ModemOnHoldEnabled,1,00,00,00,00 >> %windir%\smcfg.ini
smcfg
REM ------------ END OF COPY ----------------
Then save this in a file called "SL_XP_hotfix_01.bat"
(you might need to put this in quotes when you save
it to avoid notepad putting a ".txt" extension on the
end).
Then, using Windows Explorer, navigate to the file you
just saved, and click on it.
If you get a pop-up window, click "OK".
Let me know if this works.
