I recently posted this message:
"After we loaded a game (SimTown) into our computer, the Show Desktop icon disappeared
and the SimTown icon replaced it. Now "Show Desktop" no longer works. I've tried
deleting the shortcut and replacing it by creating a new file but when the shortcut
comes back it's still the SimTown icon. Can anyone sort this mess out?"
and got this response:
Open notepad. Copy the following text into it and save it as: Show Desktop.scf
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
kbar]
Command
[Tas =ToggleDesktop"
However, I've already tried that a couple of times and the command still doesn't
work. Somehow the "Show Desktop" command has become mixed up with the game SimTown.
The "file type" for Show Desktop comes up as SimTown Sounds. There is a file that
might be involved in all this - DeIsL2.isu. When I first tried to uninstall SimTown
the computer said it couldn't uninstall because this file wasn't available. But when
I checked manually, it was there. I have since managed to uninstall SimTown.
I realize this might be too complicated for this forum but I'm giving it another
try....
