I heard a way to install IIS on xp home edition
caution: it is a unusual way to install it, there may be some problems.
1, preparing a 2000 professional installing CD
2, assume your CD-ROM is D:
3, open 'c:\windows\inf\sysoc.inf' , find [Components] and replace 'iis=iis.dll,OcEntry,iis.inf,hide,7'
to 'iis=iis2.dll,OcEntry,iis2.inf,,7' then save, remember to backup.
4, insert windows 2000 professional CD, stop the autoruning, then run 'cmd', execute
'Expand d:\i386\iis.dl_ c:\windows\system32\setup\iis2.dll' & 'Expand d:\i386\iis.in_
c:\windows\inf\iis2.inf'
5, open the control panel, install windows assemble, select iis, install.
6, check if you install successfully.
