You can disable Internet Explorer almost completely if you want to. You don't remove
it but rather set all file permissions to "No Access" for all copies of "MSHTML.DLL"
on your system. With Netscape or another browser installed you should then be fine.
One thing may not work, if links in documetns like PDF or WORD files point to IE
and not yourdefault broswer to open them then such external links may not work when
clicked.
